A pair of Arne Vodder armchairs manufactured by France & Son, Denmark 1950’s, in teak with wool fabric.
These elegant model no. 165 lounge chairs have been reupholstered in a forest green fabric by Abraham Moon. The sculptural form of the armrests is unique. They gently curve and slope to hold the arm comfortably and showcase the ability of this master craftsman.
The sprung cushions and stance of the frames ensure fabulous comfort, the wool, a feeling of luxury.
Arne Vodder (16 February 1926 – 27 December 2009) was a Danish furniture designer, a close friend and partner of Finn Juhl who had been his teacher. His designs were simple but with an elegant sophistication and charisma. The quality of his work was always exceptional and he is said to have hand picked the finest pieces of teak and rosewood for his furniture as can be seen in this example.
